Soonwald-Nahe - Nature Reserve

Nature Conservation & Environmental Education

Children will definitely not get bored in the Soonwald-Nahe Nature Reserve. The dense deciduous forest, with its wild romantic streams and flood plains offer just the kind of adventures children long for.

Climbing, balancing, stomping barefoot through clay, cross a river, swimming in a forest lake, cooking like the Romans, watching big game, collecting minerals, making campfires, building dams and huts, canoeing, riding or fishing all this can be done in many parts of our nature park.

The local forestry offices, the forest youth hostel in Sargenroth, nature conservation associations, regional initiatives as well as museums in Simmern, Bad Kreuznach, Bad Sobernheim and the Nature Reserve Information Centre offer inventive Experience Nature Programs for every age that also make active nature conservation attractive. There are close to nature playgrounds, fire sites and adventure trails that families are free to use throughout the year, everywhere in the park. Even a spontaneous weekend trip is worth while!
